Anniversary Surprise!
Just wanted to take a minute to brag about my guy! He is not particularly romantic, but he's getting better because he sees how happy it makes me, and he's really been trying after a couple difficult months. We have a shared calendar and yesterday he added "Date Night" for this Thursday (our anniversary) and under the location tab he added "surprise."
Well, part of our issues stem from a previous girlfriend (who he went back to, twice!) and so I have free reign to check his messages from time to time and yesterday when I was checking just to see if her name was on the recent list (it was not!) I saw an emoticon with flowers and hearts and all sorts of lovey dovey emoticons. Well, I automatically freaked and opened it! WTF ANOTHER GIRL?!?!
No, our surprise dinner is at the restaurant where I fell in love with him and he's arranged for us to have a glass of champagne at the bar and then go upstairs to the super romantic patio (all by ourselves) where there will be flowers and a gift. The manager was texting him back how sweet and cute that was and he sent the emoticons (really shouldn't have taught him how to find those.)!
