When did your child stop having a dummy?

Question

My partner has said he doesn't want our daughter to have a dummy anymore (she's 18 months old). 
I know they aren't recommended after 12 months.
I'm due our second baby next month and my daughter is also starting nursery soon so I personally think that taking her dummy away now would be too much for her along with nursery and a new baby.
When did your little ones stop having a dummy? 
Would you take the dummy away now when she has 2 quite big adjustments coming up?

My pediatric dentist said it wasnt a problem until they were about 3ish. My daughter will be 2 next month and we are going to wean her before her birthday 🤞🏼

They recommend stopping at 6 months…does your child have it all the time? Or just at sleep?

My pediatrician said it wasn’t a concern until 3 years so my 2 year old still has his. With that many changes coming I wouldn’t mess with it.

I took my daughters away around that age just because I couldn’t find them in her age anymore and my cats kept chewing on them as well. Took her maybe a week to completely forget about them. It was mainly whenever I’d try to get her to sleep that was the hardest and if she ended up finding one somewhere that I then had to take away but she’s 2.5 now and is fine as long as she has her blankey (shes never sucked on her thumb either) I think sooner is definitely better then later

I don't remember exactly when my daughter stopped using the dummy- but she was between 20 and 23mo.
Short: we left only one (we had several hidden- just in case...). She bit it through so I've said "oh, now it's broken. You can throw it away by yourself- do you want to?" She hestitated but did it. And she wanted to have it in the evening for the next 3 days. I've just reminded her, that it was broken and she threw it away. And that's it.
And it was almost the same time I've stopped bf, and I was about 20-30 weeks pregnant (I really don't remember!). So it wasn't to much for her at that time.
However I also wanted to potty train her when she was 24mo. But I wasn't feeling good at the end of the pregnancy. I didn't do it. So we've left it- but I've noticed all possible readiness signs. We tried when she was 28mo (her brother was 2mo) and it took 3 days!
My point here- it's possible she's just ready. It's also possible that it will be much easier and "painless" after the baby is there. I would wait those few months- it's not that much for a child. The pacifier can help her a lot. Or not. But if she won't have it- it can be hard on her.
For now try to give her the paci as little/rare as possible- only when she needs it

I wanted to be done with dummies at 12m. My son is 19m and still uses one, every time I want to take it away he starts teething, so I feel sorry for him and give it back to him.

We had him off it during the day by 15mo. He had it at naps until around 18mo and at night time until around 26mo. Dentist said it was fine as long as it was gone by age 3.

11 months totally. Started Weaning by just giving at naps and bedtime then less and less.

Took it away a few weeks after her first birthday. She was already weaned from it during the day, so I just took it one night and she went without it cold Turkey. She was fine. I personally think the older the get, the harder it is. Her daddy deployed a few days before I took it and we had just moved into a new house. She was still adjusting to the changes when I took it and she did just fine. I would take it now but that’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀️
