Obviously if you can have someone else help with as much care as possible. Especially if you have a newborn, if your baby is older then getting sick will suck, it will be heartbreaking, but odds are they will recover. My son, his father and I all got sick once when he was 5 months old. Poor guy couldn’t understand why he was uncomfortable, couldn’t sleep, cried because he couldn’t stop coughing enough to rest…but we got over it. He’s about to be 7 years old and now it’s just his dad that gets sick often, little man is like me and doesn’t get sick much and recovers much faster than his dad does 😅

A good measure of avoiding contact is helpful, and the bright side of parents being sick is opportunity to bond with other family if possible.

No kisses (the worst part), try not to cough or sneeze near baby, wash your hands very often and if you’re sweating the occasional sink bath will help, DON’T TOUCH YOUR FACE. If you do wash your hands immediately! Clean commonly touched surfaces and keep potentially contaminated objects away from them.

And if you are breastfeeding, just keep that up! Mother’s antibodies are actually passed to baby in breast milk, it will help protect them 🙂

And also, stay hydrated and take it easy so you get better quickly! Take care of yourself, if someone can’t take the baby maybe they can deliver take out 😆 or at least mind baby while you take a bath. Or shower. When my nose is runny with a cold I blow my nose (sort of gently so I don’t hurt myself) in a steamy shower. I don’t do the neti pot thing, and I can do a bowl of steaming water with a towel over my head but it’s easy to just do it in a shower and rise off my sick sweat at the same time.
