Is my partner too old to become a father again?

I am 31 and my partner is 50. I am currently 6 weeks pregnant. The age gap has never been an issue, but other people have always had something to say about it.

My dad was 49 when I was born, my mom was 31. And after me came my three siblings so never too late. Actually my dad had a “young” mindset and didn’t feel old like his friends whose children were already adults. They felt older. I think having children later in life let’s you stay younger and open minded.

I have a friend who’s in her 30’s and her husband is in his late 50’s, they have 2 little boys (2&3) and are wanting a few more kiddos. I don’t find it weird at all!

My uncle and his wife had another kid when he was around 50 with only a few year age gap. I never thought of it as weird but their youngest does have people ask if he’s her grandfather.

Biologically speaking, he could be 100 & still able to have babies. If he’s able to have babies well into old age, there’s no reason you shouldn’t have one when he’s 50. If that’s what you both want, there’s nothing wrong with that. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I wouldn't have kids over 30, but that is my personal choice based off of my own experiences. My mom was 30 when I was born and my father was almost 40. I always hated having older parents because niether of them is in good health. I'm only 23 and my parents are in their 50s. I know they won't be here 10 years from now and its painful. It also doesn't help that the women in my family tend to die around 60. I was also relentlessly bullied for having older parents growing up. My step-dad had his daughter around 45 and he wishes he never would have even had kids because now that she is 18 he is MUCH older and he knows he won't be there when she reaches her 30s. 
I chose to have kids young due to my experiences. However, if someone has kids at a later age I don't see the problem. As long as he's in good health then so what?

Of course men feel that they are too old to be having kids in their 50s, I think an actor named Tony Randall had kids at 82, I mean obviously he wasn’t gonna be around to father them they were entire life obviously being 82 years old, but to each their own, I mean you might be pushing a baby carriage in one hand and him in a wheelchair at some point who knows anything is possible, might be pushing her father down the aisle when she gets married anything is possible let me stop with the jokes, but yeah my partners 58, I am 42, we’ve already discussed that he doesn’t want any children, he already has two that are grown finished high school college age. He said the same thing to me he’s too old to be starting over again, I don’t want any children myself, biologically, so it’s kind of understandable, I’ve had two miscarriages I’m very high risk due to blood disorders. Oh but you can understand where a man is coming from, he himself is probably picturing his daughter pushing him down the aisle in a wheelchair, and any other comments from other people is this your grandkid, no that’s my kid, it’s kind of awkward for a man to have a kid that late in life, so it’s kind of understandable.

I have several friends whose husbands were late 40s/50s when they had kids, including a family friend whose kids are now late teens/adults. 50s maybe used to be considered an old fart, but today things are much different. If he is healthy, active etc, why not?

My daughters father was 52 when we had her. Shes perfectly healthy.
