Husband helps in night?

Question

My baby is 7 weeks old. My husband works in the week and I’m on maternity leave. Our plan was to switch off nightly on feeding the baby boy but then he asked me to do the feeds during the week and he can on the weekends. I still have to pump in the night but I need help to maximize my sleep. If my husband gets up I have to wake up and I still do e everything except feed him. It’s irritating. Just curious do any of y’all’s spouses help during the night?

So if I ask him to, he absolutely will but I mostly breastfeed at night bc it's just easier and she sleeps better. But there have been nights I just needed the break and he will get up and make the bottle to which I will still feed her but bc I want to and he does work long hours BUT again if I said here feed her he absolutely would. 
It is a partnership it doesn't matter who does what, when and where. If one partner needs help or a break the other should step in. Talk to him, communication is key.
I might add this is our 5th and he is a first responder who is under a lot of stress right now.

My husband and I do everything 50/50, even now that he is back to work. The first month we split the night in half - I’d sleep from 9pm -2 am while he was up with the baby then we’d switch and he’d sleep from 2 am - 7 am while I was with the baby so we each got at least 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep. (Baby and parent were in the living room with the bassinet)
Now that she only wakes up once to feed at night we go every other night for who will get up with her to do the 4 am feeding. 
This is what we did with our oldest daughter and it’s what worked for us this time too.

I breastfeed, so I wake up and nurse and change her diaper if needed, then I wake him up and he burps and holds her up for 30 minutes (she has reflux) then he puts her back to bed

Hubby takes care of bub from 12am until 5am then goes to work at 6am through the week. When he is home he also helps we do 50/50, and on weekends he takes bub from 1230am until I wake up, usually at 830am. I'm very lucky 😊

My husband sleeps on the pull out couch so since he’s working all day . I don’t mind because once he’s home he take care of our toddler or switches off with me so I can have undivided attention with our toddler. I am BF so not much other than burping the baby at night or changing his needed.I am

My husband is a mechanic, so he has a very strenuous job where he is on his feet 10+ hours per day. I do all the night time feedings and diaper changes for our newborn son since I’m on maternity leave. We did the same for our first as well. However, we constantly refer to him as the “primary” for our first child, so he changes her in the morning, takes her for walks in the evening, does bath time, and gets her ready for bed. When she was first born, he would do the early morning stuff before work so I could sleep in a little bit. He will help out with our son as much as he can during the day. He is currently holding him while he is fussing so I can have a glass of wine. You have to figure out what is right for you. People might say “oh your husband should absolutely help you out at night”, but that’s not always necessary if they are being a good parent other times of the day and in other ways. You’ll find your groove but make sure you’re communicating!

My husband was on leave for 7 weeks and would do the night feed and I would pump. He just went back to work last week so I’m now waking up to pump and then feed babe. I have the option of napping during the day where as he doesn’t. He still gets up and does the night feed on weekends, plus he does mostly everything for our toddler so I can’t complain.

No, my husband gets a good night sleep but he manages our two girls during the day so I can nurse in peace and I get a long nap after lunch. 
The deal works for us but I must say I’m a SAHM and my husband works from home since Covid. Before he was traveling all the time and it was all in me.

Once in a while my boyfriend gets up to grab the bottle but other then that nights are on me. I can understand the frustration. My boyfriend works during the week as well and I’m a stay at home momma taking care of a 5 year old and newborn I’m exhausted. 😢
