First Appt Date is at 10 Weeks. Is that late?

Everyone is talking about their hcg levels & hearing the heartbeat etc….I can’t get into my OB until mid Sept. & I’m 6 wks 3 days. Third pregnancy (13/14 yo) & I’m 38. Thanks for the advice!

My OB is the same only she’s having me go in for HCG blood draws and early ultrasound due to back to back miscarriages! From what I understand they usually do the following if you have either complications or history of miscarriage!

I'm going in sep 7th I will be 8 weeks then, I don't normally get early ultrasounds only with 2 of my kids because my periods were so irregular. She doesn't usually check HB until I'm 12 weeks or close to it because usually you can't heart a HB until then and it's not worth stressing over if you don't. 
I don't think it usually commmon routine to do these interventions unless Dr deems necessary. If she doesn't that probably means your having a straight forward pregnancy 🙂

Go get a blood draw by your doc if your confirmed. If you not concerned, then wait for 10week scan and ask the clinic to put you on waiting list for an earlier app. Typically you go in 6-7 weeks to confirm it’s viable ie sac, fetal pole, HB. But waiting a bit longer is ok too

That seems very normal. My OB does a 7 week phone intake call and then your first in-office visit is with a nurse at 10 weeks. I don’t se my OB until 15 weeks. However, I did get my hcg drawn and an ultrasound at 6w5d because I have a history of early losses. They do the hcg to make sure it’s rising normally and the ultrasound is really just to get a date because my last cycle resulted in an early loss so I have no Acura test lmp to go off of!

Anywhere from 8-12 weeks is considered normal. Especially if you aren’t considered high risk.

I called my dr and they had me do a phone appt and then they ordered bloodwork. They only did hcg because I’ve had two previous losses. And even with those I won’t see the actual on until 9 weeks.

with my first i was 10weeks and my second i will be 12 weeks, the wait is ass but the bright side is at least the baby will look like a baby at 12 weeks and i think it’ll be more exciting then!
