Anyone do a floor bed (montessori) for their baby?

I decided to do the switch but now I'm debating. I sold her mini crib and wanted her to have have bigger space but now I'm thinking of using a pack n play.

I never did a crib with my second. He was in the pack n play in my room until he was 6 months old then I moved him to a floor bed in his room. It’s been great. We haven’t had any issues.

This was definitely one of my best parenting decisions. My daughter was 20 months and SO thrilled to have a ‘big girl bed’. As you can see from the pictures, we initially just put her crib mattress straight on the floor until the toddler bed came in (sprout kids- expensive but well made). We wanted her to be able to get in and out for potty training purposes and to distance her from the crib because baby #2 was on the way. 
She sleeps great. The first two or three nights I laid next to the bed until she fell asleep. Then i just explained, “mama’s gonna read books, then we sing a song. Then mama turns out the light and goes bye bye. Evie closes eyes and goes to sleep.
She got out of her bed once on night 3 or 4 and ninja’d into the big queen bed in her room that my sister was sleeping in. My sister put her back in her toddler bed and that was it. Now that she’s fully potty independent (almost 3) she sometimes gets up to use the potty but gets right back in bed afterwards. And sometimes she wakes up with her legs on the floor, halfway off the bed, and I am grateful she doesn’t have anything higher.

We had a twin mattress on the floor for our 2 year old for about a month. Not because we were following any type of method but because the mattress arrived a month before the bed frame 🤷🏼‍♀️ It ended up being a really good transition for him.

A play pen isn’t Montessori so I’d skip it and put the floor on the bed. 
Are you doing only this for Montessori or everything else? It’s about independence and freedom.

I practice Montessori but I never did a floor bed. She sleeps so well at night that I’m nervous doing a floor bed will screw that up 😩😂😅

I don't know about Montessori, but all my kids started out on a bed on the floor from the time they were infants.

I thought floor beds weren’t safe until a toddler bed would be safe, which is after 2. But maybe Im incorrect on that
