When is the right time….

Question

Hey y’all. When is the right time to start making a nursery room and to start buying things like diapers, clothes, bassinet, crib, etc. ? I’m 13 weeks and wanted to know if I should start now or wait a while longer? Definitely don’t want to wait til the last minute!

Whenever you want, I’m 12 weeks tomorrow and have bought wipes the last couple of grocery trips just to spread out when I’m spending extra, I just heard from a coworker that they are looking to donate their baby stuff so probably once I go through that I’ll start figuring out what’s missing. I also still need to empty my nursery though, it still has boxes in it from when we moved in a year ago 😣

You can do it at anytime you want. I didn't buy a whole lot until after my baby shower that way I just bought what was left over on my registry that ppl didn't gift us, and most places with give a completion coupon like target or Buybuybaby ect.

I made a list super early of all the items I wanted and then after my baby shower is when we made all the purchases.

If you’re having a shower then definitely wait until after the shower to make any larger purchases. If you’re not, I would say by 35 weeks or so is ideal to have things purchased, assembled, washed and hung, etc. If you want to start earlier for fun then go for it but definitely by about 35 weeks you’ll want to have these things done.

Whenever you feel like it.  I buy all the “needs” myself and just leave the fun stuff for others to get.  I like to have everything early so I’m not worrying over it or getting anxious about what I still need.

Do whatever works for you. I started early with my first. I also didn’t include items on my registry I wanted to purchase myself. I watched deals and such. We also didn’t share what we were having so I could buy the gender specific clothes I liked

Well I’m 27 weeks and haven’t bought anything other than a few onesies and just ordered crib & dresser- really wishing I would have started sooner!!
