I had a nice house (not extremely large but comfortable) with a yard and rented it all out to move to a new country. I live in a pretty small apartment now and travel with my two kids any chance I get. I love the vacations and spending more time with my kids. Since we have hardly any extra space we don’t shop often and save a lot of money that way.

Both lol. But really I’d rather have a nice home and things I like to look at rather than spending all my time counting down to the next vacation because I don’t enjoy my surroundings.

I don’t need a big house or car to be happy. As long as I have a nice house and nice car that I can afford I’ll be fine. And going on vacation at least once a year would be nice too

I do not travel well. I have severe motion sickness from pretty much everything. I would choose stuff over travel.

I want to say vacations but I think with a 2yr old and a infant, I’d much rather have a bigger house and a bigger car now since amazing vacations aren’t exactly something we’re doing anytime soon.

It depends on what stage of life you are...
I don't have a house. We save money (it's annoyingly expensive to buy something- at least wjere I live) but we also go for a week vacation every year (except last year- but it wasn't aboit money) and we visit families every year (I don't feel like it's vacation... but it is). 
But at a point of satisfying home- not even a big one- I would partially invest in the house (renovations, garden, swing set) and still partially spend money on trips and vacations

I guess it depends on what your view of bigger/better is. I want a home and a car that fit my family and that my husband and I own. We're on the suburbs of DC, which are do big/busy that they basically have sub-suburbs. We're looking at moving to one of those areas so we have a bigger house/more yard but it's also affordable. We just sold my SUV and are saving up money for a van because it wasn't going to fit our growing faint. Like I don't want something large to be frivolous, but we need to all fit comfortably and legally. I'd rather spend excess money on vacations once the necessities are covered.
