Zofran?

How does anyone feel about this? I've heard many positive & negative things & I just don't know. My doctor prescribed it due to my still overwhelming morning sickness but I wanted some opinions from others too!

I've been taking it for about a month now due to my morning sickness and it has helped me a ton! Take it once in the morning and once at night and no nausea and no being sick in the mornings! I couldn't of kept going in to work without it. Only side effect I have noticed is constipation but that could also be the pregnancy effect. But it is very worth it if u have a lot of morning sickness

I have a prescription for it. I took it for about a month when my morning sickness was bad (I'm 13w1d now and it's mostly past, thank god) and it worked wonderfully for me. My doctor told me that if it wasn't safe they would prescribe it and that the lawsuits we've all seen on TV, aren't gaining much ground because they have no way to prove that any of the birth defects came solely from zofran. I tried all of the non-medication remedies I could find and none of them worked, Zofran was a god send for me, but if you're worried, talk to your doctor. Maybe they have some ideas.

A friend of mine who is a nurse who is about a week and half behind me said that after talking to her doctor and a perionatlogist that she works with said that you'd have to be on an IV of the stuff on a regular basis for it to be harmful. For how true that really is, I don't know. I've been taking (I have no idea how to spell this right) Phinnegran when I need it. It helps me a lot but it makes you really drowsy, which isn't ideal in a lot of situations!

I've heard it's more risky than diclegis, but I think you need to weigh the pros and cons. If you are so sick that you aren't getting essential nutrients that your baby needs then I think it may be worth it. Have you tried diclegis? It's category A so completely safe to take. Maybe start there and then do zofran if that doesn't work?
