Visits after birth, help, I need advice

Is it inconsiderate of me and my husband to ask for one week of no visits after we come home from the hospital, so that we can bond with baby.

We very much so want visits from family at the hospital, we no doubt want to share the experience with them, but my husband is only having a week off work and I get very overwhelmed by entertaining a lot of people so we mutually agree that a week of just us and baby would be really beneficial to us all.

I am getting the vibe that some people aren’t happy with this though and it is stressing me out alot.

What are your opinions?
