Annoyed with my husband. Need advice desperately.
I can't believe my husband and I are seriously going back and forth on this subject. We aren't arguing, he's just not listening to me.
So here's the thing.. I love cats. Not in a crazy cat woman way, I've grown up having a cat in the house and I just like them. My husband however is anti cat (or so I thought) he told me when we first got married if he can't have a snake (which I'm against) I can't have a cat. Which I've agreed to, I don't need a cat. I'd like one yes, but I've grown to not having one and only having dogs and other animals.
Well this lady we know will be giving away free kittens which they are super cute!! And now my husband is on this kick about getting one?!!! I don't think it's a good idea because 1. We rent however our landlord won't care. But I just don't want a cat in a rental. 2. This house just isn't cat proof lol. As in there's no room for a liter box and we have to keep it away from kids and dogs. And there's a lot of places she can get into that I don't like. We live in a older house so it's just weird. 3. It's an additional cost we don't need right now.
But he's just not listening to me!!! And I've had a week to think about this and sleep on it and my mind isn't changing. I have a gut feeling it's just not the right time. But now he's saying how our kids will be sad because they're looking forward to it. (Our oldest is 4. He doesn't even fully comprehend unless we bring it up lol) and how I'd be breaking his heart. My husband is the one who keeps saying it'll be fine. We can figure out the cat box and such later when we buy one. Which we would be buying one that's like a hideaway liter box. He says the cost isn't that much for our cats. Our dogs are more expensive (which ain't a lie) but idk. Then he keeps telling me how he really knows I want one lol.
I feel like if I completely say no I'm gonna hurt HIS feelings 😅
Oh yeah I should have added that I'm not worried at all about the dogs or kids getting use to a cat. They've all been around them several times and do just fine. That's not at all on my mind with the situation.
