Potty trained!

Proud Mommy moment!! 😃

This was the post I made on my social media but copied here:

I did not take many pictures of Jay this week because he spent 90% of it naked and at home (this one was Wednesday at his first dentist appointment, he did amazing!). He told me last weekend he wanted to use the potty and I ran with it. It's been one week and this boy is potty trained!! 🚽

I did the "Oh Crap" method (no pants, no diaper) and I was terrified. I seriously regretted my decision on day one and two. Nothing like cleaning up pee and poop off your living room rug to make you rethink your life. 😬 Then it started to click. He told me more often that he had to go instead of just going when I put him on the toilet and the accidents were way less frequent.

This weekend we tested his limits by adding in more distractions and venturing from the house but he did great! (I do have to say that I cheated and put diapers on him when not at home which they say not to do because it can be confusing, but it he did great switching back and forth and didn't want to go in the diaper). Today he was accident free! I know we're still working on it and there will be accidents, but I can't believe the progress he made in just 7 days, especially since he's not quite 2 yet.

Sorry for the long post but I'm just so proud! 🤩 I also wanted to share our success with the method because I know how stressful potty training can be. I highly recommend the "Oh Crap" potty training book!
