Would you recommend an IUD for post partum birth control?

12 weeks postpartum and looking into birth control options. breastfeeding so I need something that won’t affect my supply and I can’t do the mini pill because it has dairy derivatives and my girl can’t tolerate dairy.

I clicked no, but it was a knee-jerk reaction as I had an awful experience with the copper IUD. But for you, it might be a good choice.
I've tried every form of birth control a doctor can offer and have had awful side effects with each. I finally turned to the Fertility Awareness Method coupled with condoms during my fertile window, and that's what I'll use until we make more permanent decisions. 
Since you're in the middle of breastfeeding, this might be a bit too tricky to learn your body right now. So maybe give the IUD a try, and if it works, great, and if not, you can always have it removed.

I had the iud before pregnancy and with conversations with my doctor, the iud is the best one to not have a baby AND not affect breastfeeding. 
Honestly I loved it before and plan on getting it ASAP after birth 😂

I personally had a terrible experience with the Mirena IUD but have had friends who loved it. It’s so dependent on the person.
