Toddler shoes for tall arches

Question

I cannot for the life of me find a shoe that will fit my 2 year olds super high arched feet. Most shoes I can’t even get on him without pain. I’ve been to five stores and tried on everything in his size with no luck. We have been existing in these Velcro sandals that are two sizes too small. 
I need something sized for wide feet, plus really malleable/not stiff at all, plus with a wide opening. Any suggestions?

Stride rite are great and have wide sizes. There are a ton of styles and fits but all are supportive but soft. Our ped doc highly recommends them. Our daughter has curly toes on one foot so we had a hard time finding shoes but have not had any issue with stride rite...they also have grip so safer for my tiny tornado as she doesn't slip or fall as easy

It’s actually not good for your arches to have arch support. Sounds crazy but if you’re constantly supporting that area it will lose the strength to support itself. I always keep my kids in soft sole shoes the first few years to help their feet development. Then they want to start picking their own shoes lol

I love the PLAE Max shoes! They are made to accommodate kids with AFO and SMO braces as well so they open up wide and are highly adjustable as far as how tight you want them to be. They clean easily and last forever! I have found the Max to be better fitting than the Ty style, which tend to run narrower on my youngest’s chonky feet.

I don’t have a product recommendation but I used to work for a podiatrist (foot doctor) and most people think they either have really high arch or really flat feet which is incorrect. If you look at your foot when you’re sitting, you have a natural arch because of your plantar fascia but as soon as you stand up, your foot flattens which is what it’s supposed to do. I would look for insoles before you spend hundreds of dollars on shoes that might not even work for him. Try to go half a size bigger or even a whole size for him with insoles and see how he does. Definitely gets some sole inserts and a larger shoes size and get baby to a foot dr.
