What if I’m a bad mom?

I’m only 6 weeks 5 days with my first, and I know I have time to process this, but I feel a sudden overwhelming feeling like “what if I suck? What if I don’t connect with him/her, what if this? What if that?” 
How did you guys imagine motherhood to be like and what ended up happening? I’m so curious to hear your stories!

I think everyone is a bad mom at first lol. Its kmpossible to prepare!! You can babysit 100 kids you can be a live in nanny but you still arent a mom!! It isnt the same!  You dont know what your doing until your doing it!  Even when u have a second its a whole different game! They have their own personality and weird quirks you cant prepare for that. Its all a learning curve so dont stress it. Ull fuck up for sure! But we all do so stay calm and roll with it

I was convinced that I would end up giving full custody to her father, that I would not be able to do this whole motherhood thing. I was pretty consistent with that trend until almost 3 days after she got home and it hit me that I was the best thing in her life and she mine. Now I can't imagine the world without her.

Those feelings are totally normal! Don’t stress about it! Parenting is a journey and every day is a new experience! don’t be hard on yourself. Be patient, learn to laugh, and soak up every moment!
