Why do people who are scared of taking the vaccine take ivermectin instead when that’s not considered safe at all?

But the fda has approved many food and drugs that were removed off the market later for dangerous reasons.

Actually ivermectin is tested and approved for human consumption to treat worms, not viruses and not covid. Same with medicines that treat malaria, there is no proof they treat covid yet doctors in other countries are prescribing the meds like candy. It’s to give people hope who otherwise have no hope, it’s sad that medically educated people are contributing to the dumbing down of the population, as treating people with meds not approved for that use can be harmful. I say can because sometimes they learn things about meds when used for things they weren’t meant for and they work, for instance chemotherapy is basically medically sanctioned poison that also happens to kill cancer cells. In no way do I think a worm medicine can treat or prevent covid, but some people sadly do and because politicians don’t disagree with them they’ll continue to do so.

Ivermectin /has/ been FDA tested and approved for other purposes, and as such it has a /longer/ safety profile than the vaccines do (when human-grade products are taken as prescribed by a doctor). That weighs more heavily in some people’s risk/benefit calculations than others’. The main question is not the safety (all medical interventions have risks), but the effectiveness.

I never got the impression it was the people who didn’t want the vaccine. I always got the impression it was the people who were drinking the fear lingering MSM Kool Aid that were so freaked out about getting covid that they were willing to be so stupid as to take animal drugs. I can’t get the vaccines cause of allergies but I would never take anything else .. I just stay home for the most part and if. I go out I’m masked and stay way away from ppl.
