Prodromal labor

How long were you in prodromal labor before actual labor started?

I spent 6 hours in triage last night after having regular contractions since 11am that were increasing in pain, 5-7 minutes apart, and lasting 1 minute. They administered IV fluids and they slowed, but did not stop. There was no cervical change. It’s now 10am and they’re still happening. The dr did say that labor is potentially near, but given I’m only 36 weeks and had no change, she did not want to admit me.
