hand flapping

he's 18 months old and still hand flapping and so concerned, every time i tell his pediatrician she says its normal. any advice? any other babies doing this too? should i be concerned?

It's normal. Don't worry especially if the pedi isn't worried

I wouldn’t worry too much! My little one has some of these traits too. Gets overstimulated easy and prefers to play on her own. She is growing and loving and doing well.

What else makes you concerned? Hand flapping alone isn’t a red flag. How is his speech and language? His play? Behaviors? My little one flaps her hands when she is running and excited. But she is totally typical. I’m also an SLP momma.

How does he play with other children? So far he sounds like a typical boy

he loves spinning the wheels on his cars, his language is good he talks a lot, he knows about 100+ words, he will play with his toys sometimes but prefer to play with any else other then toys, she does it sometimes or of no where and his eye contact is good
