Ivermectin Legal Case

✈️

The family of a patient in Ohio have demanded that the hospital prescribe anti-parasitic Ivermectin to treat his severe Covid. The hospital declined as it’s a fringe treatment not recommended, and dangerous. A judge overruled them and ordered the hospital to use it due to patient wishes. Today that ruling was overturned in favor of the hospital.

Who is right? Should medical professionals be required to follow patient wishes against medical advice? The implications of this range beyond Covid. What about a patient wanting experimental treatments that are more mainstream, but against a particular doctors guidance?

***This post is about medical ethics NOT if ivermectin is safe and effective. It’s not.***
