late speech or autism

my 2yo son was referred to do speech therapy, he doesn’t say any phrases yet just baby talk still, should i be worried? I know autism isn’t a bad thing, I had thoughts that my son might be autistic but no one in my family is. He acts like a completely normal child. i need advice maybe he is a late talker?
