milk donation ?

hey yall,
i have a problem i never thought i’d have..
I HAVE TOO MUCH MILK! 
my freezer is crazy stocked and my son is only 3 months, plus i have an insane amount in the fridge that i know will have to be thrown away because there’s no way he can drink all of it. 
would it be a bad idea to start donating some of it ? or should i wait until my baby has stopped drinking breast milk and donate what’s left over ?
i planned to stop pumping when he turns 6 months (which is why i started a stock so early lol) but i don’t think i’d mind continuing until he’s 8months to a year if it means i can continue to feed him and have a decent amount to donate as well
any thoughts??

donating is a beautiful thing and can save so many babies and mothers, but that is 1000000% your choice and your choice only , you do what’s best for you and what you feel is right, if your freezer is stocked and fridge and you’re wasting, then yeah i’d say donate , you’ll still be producing no matter what you do, you’re basically giving and replacing

I donated nearly 3000oz over my son’s first year.  I used human milk for human babies Facebook page to do it.  That way I could be picky about who got it and knew no one was being charged an arm and a leg for it (we got donor milk while in the nicu and it was $14/oz 😱 we had to pay for the full oz too even though we only used 5ml).  I always kept back 300-500oz at a time in case of emergencies though

y’all i’m asking WHEN i should donate lol ! should i start now and donate as i pump or should i wait until my baby has stopped drinking breast milk ? i’ve already talked with my local milk bank and i’m a perfect candidate, they said i can start whenever i feel comfortable. i use to donate years ago after i had a stillborn so i didn’t have to think about feeding my baby before donating

Absolutely you can donate. I myself have donated 3000oz with my first and 2800oz with my 2nd. It’s a beautiful and most rewarding thing you can do. 
I personally didn’t do a milk bank as the nearest one is 3-4hrs away. And they are extremely strict. Plus charge the parents when nicu babies get it. It’s very expensive too. 
Try fbook sites Human milk for Human babies (your state) or Eats on Feets ~(your state). Those are local moms looking for donor milk. I would just do a couple hundred ounces at a time.

I freeze milk just to donate while I breastfeed because it is such a great resource for parents who need it. My 1st baby was given donor milk in the hospital because she was tiny and her mouth wasn't strong enough to do full feedings  and the donor milk was amazing at helping her eat at first. I wanted to make sure another parent had that peace of mind. We never used a bottle and she was ebf off my breastfeeding her whole life after the 1st week of supplement feeding somI literally froze just to donate. Off just using my haaka and pumping to relieve full boobs some days I donated about 1000oz to the milk Bank at the hospital that will get used for babies in need and in the nicu. Doing it with baby 2 currently also. It is an amazing thing to do as that milk is such a resource. I made sure I donated to a place where it was being used for babies in need and couldn't be bought. Most milk banks will only take milk that is a certain age old in a deep freezer so if you wanna donate make sure you find who you want to donate to and see their rules. Where I donated the milk had to be all dated and could be no older than 3 months on a normal freezer or 6 months in a deep freezer. They did a screening over the phone and I went and got a blood/urine test to screen for any potential dangers. Took about 2 weeks from initial phone call to the actual donation drop off.
