How should I take this response? Work related

I went to an interview Wednesday & the hiring manager told me IF I get hired I’ll see an email Monday/Tuesday.. should I wait for that email or keep looking? I honestly think I didn’t get the job they would’ve told me at the interview if I got hired…

It’s pretty rare for employers to hire on the spot. They often have multiple interviews lined up. You can continue looking now or wait until Tuesday to be sure you didn’t get the job first. It’s up to you.

I alway say to keep applying until you’ve signed onboarding paperwork. Too often things can pop up or change so it’s better to play it safe than sorry. Also, I’ve never been offered a job on the spot! And if I was I’d be concerned. You want to work for a company who puts thought and effort into who they hire for a role, not just hire any warm body. Stay optimistic but keep exploring your options!

Why would you assume they tell you at the interview? Sometimes they really have other interviews to conduct.

Employers will almost never tell you on the spot. That’s just not how it works. That said ALWAYS keep looking and assume you didn’t get the job. Keep that attitude until you’ve actually seen and accepted a formal offer. You might not get the offer, you might not like the offer, many many things can happen so never wait did an offer. Always keep applying until you actually accept an offer.
