How can I help my 17 month old learn to say new words? I need ideas. He only says Mama and Dada. He used to say Bubba, Kitty, No, and Booboo( our dogs name) but won’t say them anymore. I don’t know why, he just stopped talking all together about 4 months ago and is just now starting to say mama and dada again. But even with mama and dada, he goes “Ma-ma-ma-ma” and “Da-da-da-da-da”. He babbles in gibberish a lot but won’t try to say new words. When I try to get him to, it’s like he doesn’t even care or acknowledge what I’m saying. He does that with most things too. Unless it’s about food or going outside or something he really enjoys.
