What do you mean by support? Do you mean support by purchasing, or support their existence? I think the fact that public schools have to fundraise for ANYTHING is an absolute disgrace. Public schools should be fully funded and public education should be a top priority in this country. I do purchase from most school fundraisers. Sweet kids who knock on my door are gonna make a sale, dammit. My own kids, I just donate a lump sum myself typically, rather than try to sell to friends and family. FULLY 👏🏼 FUND 👏🏼 PUBLIC 👏🏼 EDUCATION 👏🏼

No! Children and parents should not have to be door to door salesmen to support public schools that should be fully federally and state funded.

I asked this because of my kids. They started the Otis Spunkmeyer Fundraiser. A long with another one. Their goal is 200 sales per class! If they made this huge sale, they’ll be purchasing the school an outdoor seating area (seats 12-20) with a weatherproof canopy. 200 sales per class. There are 24+/- students per class. 20 classes on campus. The cheapest item in the OS catalog is $12 and the item is a 9oz. Bag of gummy bears. The next catalog is one of those eco friendly shopping bags and tacky mom shit. Cheapest item was a $3 sticker “Mom Rocks!” Any who, I told my kids their school can fuck off. But do you think they’ve fucked off? No. I’ve received a nightly phone call, email reminders, teacher/parent app messages. 2 a day! And flyers coming home in her backpack. Oh and the prizes. The freaking prizes. Sell $25 dollars worth of items and take home a beautiful plastic whistle with lights 😍. This is child labor. Each student in the state of CA is funded $85 per day for attendance. They’re getting caged out to begin with. Idk why my child should have to sell anything. And why the school pushes it so damn hard.

Only the ones where 100% of the profits go to the school. I tossed my kids catalogs in the fireplace last year and sent him with a direct check to the school. No company is going to use my kids as child labor. "Fundraising" my ass 🙄

Not really. I don’t mind like bake sales and car washes, but I have a real problem with companies profiting off of child labor.

I teach at a low income school. It makes me cringe when they send out those catalogs of overpriced candles and popcorn and encourage kids to send them for the school to net pennies on the dollar.

Yess support them. I remember selling chocolate like my life depended on it 😂. Those worlds famous chocolate bars are good and sometimes I have to pretend I’m blind cause I’ll buy five bars 😅.

Nope. Truth be told o hate those damn things. I don’t let my kids sell any of the snacks and things to strangers. We just basically give them money for us to place an order and that’s it. The “prizes” are usually trash as hell and the money doesn’t fully go to whatever they say it does sound let my kids choose if they want to participate
