So I’m almost 19 and I have an appointment to go look at a couple apartments throughout the week. My mom and I have not gotten along for awhile now, and sometimes it is just stubborn “teenage” stuff, but in general she’s a very toxic mother. She picks and chooses how she acts towards me based on what she wants (ex: you can’t work more than 20 hours a week because I say so BUT you have to pay your car payment/insurance which is almost $400 a month, in order to do that I need to work more hours) another example, I have to watch my brother every Sunday which isn’t a big deal because it’s “her house her rules” but when I bring up moving out on my own it’s “good luck paying for everything yourself because I’m not helping you”. Another problem is I was planning on moving in with the boyfriend I’ve been with almost a year now, but she has never met him because we do have a significant age difference, so I just haven’t brought the subject up yet.
