I saw my husband cry for the first time

My husband has really bad anger issues. The smallest things will set him off and he will punch a wall or go break something. He grew up in a very he a man house hold. No crying, keep in all your emotions, get over it. We have been together 6 years and he's never cried once. Instead everything comes out in rage. I left him 8 months ago because he got so mad and started destroying our home. He begged me back and finally agreed to go to therapy. He's been in therapy a few months and I was with him in therapy Friday. His therapist was talking to him pretty much about toxic masculinity but wasn't calling it that. More so just saying stereotype. So they got back to his anger and talked about his family. He ended up arguing with his therapist and yelling at his therapist and his therapist kept talking until 24 years worth of tears started flowing. It's like his wall crumbled and he broke down crying so bad. He cried, for a good TWO HOURS straight. His therapist not once rushed him out. He was full on bawling, snot running down his nose, and coughing while crying. I rubbed his back. When we got home he seemed.... Different... He has this calming energy coming from him. He didn't really say much but just seemed at peace. We watched tv and he laid his head on my shoulder. He seems... At peace.
