Flat head??

Hi mommies and daddies I just had a question do you guys think my daughter has a flat head she’s about four months and I know the doctor wanted to kind of observe her and see if it gets any better I’d like to know any ideas any tips????
Also do you think she’s going to need a helmet —- She also favours one side of her head like tilting to one side

To me it looks like it is. Not that bad, but to a degree yes it looks like flat head.

We did physical therapy since 3 weeks , because my son preferred to sleep on one side also. It helped a lot but we ended up getting helmet, I was worried it’s not gonna get better on it’s own. And as his parent I feel like it’s my responsibility to do everything possible to prevent possible problems in the future. Our Pediatritian told the same, that it’s a small difference and it’s our choice. One of my friends had flat head as a child and you still can see it now, so I really hope helmet will help. Also, don’t worry, babies don’t care at all. First few days he was touching it but now completely got used to it.

I didn’t read through the comments, although I’m going through the same with my 6month old. I do neck stretches with him and when dad is holding him I will go to the side he doesn’t favour and talk to him so he turns his head to me and stretches his neck. Also when sleeping I turn his head the opposite way. 
We also have an appointment this week with a 
Physiologist this week.

My 2.5 year olds head was very similar around this age. We decided not to go with a helmet due to my pediatrician saying it would round out eventually. It took some time but her head did completely round out! I would just ask the peds opinion but try not to stress. Once they sit up on their own it tends to fix itself.

I think it’s from laying down long periods of time. Do more tummy time instead of laying on back all the time it will help.

Our pediatrician referred us to a physical therapist to help us with some positioning that would help round out our little one’s head. The PT told us that while tummy time, sitting up, baby wearing, etc. helps the head from getting any flatter, those things don’t actually help to round the head out. One really easy thing she told us to do that did help a little bit was lots of side lying while playing on the floor.

It looks a little bit. Jus try and do more tummy time or have her sitting when awake instead of lying down. That will help it.

My son’s head looks similar and we have an apt this week to see if he qualifies for a helmet. Our pediatrician told us it was totally our call. There is a high percentage that their heads round out on their own and it’s really parent choice when it’s pretty mild. My son favors one side as well so we see it more when we look down on his head.

Not really. I have seen flate before and yours doesn’t really look like it.
