Hi, so im currently going through my first outbreak of genital herpes. I caught it from my partner who has always suffered with cold sores on his mouth and i suppose ive been lucky for 12 years and my luck ran out.

I can honestly say ive never experienced anything like this its so painful!

I think im over the worst of it as i no longer have any blisters and the sores that were on my inner genital area seem to have healed and are no longer painful but i have some sores on the lips of my vagina and they seemed to be getting better but the last couple if days theyve been really sore and uncomfortable and my lips are swollen and red.

Ive been soaking in salt water and applying lidocaine cream which works for like an hour then it gets sore again. Its so sore its waking me up in the night.

I dont think its infected as ive got no discharge or anything.

I just want to know if theres anything i can do to dry the sores out and make them heal quicker I am miserable and i go back to work tomorrow and i just know its gonna be so umcomfortable 😭
