12 weeks 4 days glucose test??

Im 175 pounds 5'5" ... I had a baby 8 months ago and just started loosing weight when I found out I was pregnant again at 5 months pp 
My midwife ordered a glucose test bc she said im severely overweight.
Is this normal? I was bigger with my first. I was 190 pounds when I got pregnant last time and never once did they tell me I was fat and needed to be tested for diabetes early.

Yes it’s normal. I had to do an early one too at 15 weeks because I’m overweight and have PCOS.

i believe you’re at a higher risk for GD because of how close your pregnancies are and your weight, i know with pregnancies less than a year apart they like to test for things early

Did you ask her? It’s a good question seeing as you were actually heavier the first time around.
It could be because you just had a baby and are pregnant again. Body hasn’t had time to normalize yet. There are different factors that may contribute to asking for an early glucose test, weight included. 
If you trust your midwife, I’d just go ahead and do one. You have to get it done anyways, so what’s the harm 🤷🏼‍♀️
“Severely overweight” is a bit much though.
