I'm 4 days late for my period

The signs are there that it's on its way like the stomach pains every know and then but my breasts seem quite tender too every know and then should I test anyway or wait a while?

I don't want to get my hopes up and then be disappointed, my friend has said she had the same thing was over a week late and then found out afterwards she was actually 8 weeks pregnant!

Been a woman is tough ain't it! Lol
