Has anyone given birth alone? (UK)

Okay, so this is my first pregnancy. I have to go through a lot of appointments alone, including those around my Ill health, as I’ve no support from family, and my partner needing to be on call 24/7 for her disabled child. This means that when the time comes, we have no support and there will be nobody willing to look after my partners daughter. Neither of us have any support.
Has anyone given birth without a birthing partner? What are your experiences? Is birthing alone even an option?

Look into hiring a doula! They are basically a birthing support person that does so for a living, lol. That is what I would do in your situation, especially being a first time mom.

I know there  is an app called peanuts that you can meet with other moms in your areas and stuff….I don’t know if that app works in the UK but maybe getting on one of those or a Facebook moms group app and just asking one of them if they could help you learn and help you when the time comes? I know that the peanuts app is for older women going through menopause maybe you can find one who has had children before and would love to help you out?? Just a suggestion?

I’m in the US, but I gave birth alone for my first and possibly will again for my second! Honestly, it was pretty relaxing. I slept a ton and the nursing staff took great care of me. Of course I wish my husband could have been there but it wasn't bad. As long as you have someone to drive you home, you should be just fine!
