Friend not interested in pregnancy?

My best girl friend just seems to not be interested at all in my pregnancy. She never asks how I'm doing, how is baby doing, how my appointments go ect Of course I don't want her to JUST talk about the pregnancy but at least be some what interested :/ (I have a high risk pregnancy aswell so it hurts not having someone to talk to especially when you really need them) I have asked her to please let me know when she has any days off and we can do something one day and she never did and I found out she took a whole week off. Ahh I don't know, just feeling kind of left To the side if that makes any sense. Hormones? Probably. But I do feel hurt and just wondering if anyone else is going through the same thing or something similiar?

Does your friend hve children of her own? When I had my first baby all of close friends that were also my childless friends became "just another friend" if that makes sense?

I was told it would happen, that childless friends would perobably drift away from me so when they did I was expecting it and I did not have a probalem with it as I understood those friends and I would be very different now.

Another thing that could be with your friend is maybe she is struggling with infertility and/or has suffered pregnancy loss recently and not told anyone.

Give her time, she may come around. If she does not, I am sorry, but itis pretty common hun.

Could your friend be struggling with infertility or a recent pregnancy loss? It can be difficult to be supportive and interested in a friends pregnancy if you are struggling with either of those things...

I've had this happen with a couple of friends, they just aren't at that stage in their life and they don't get it. They are annoyed about the dynamic changing I think, which it obviously will. Bizarrely I'm mostly having trouble with my friend who is also pregnant! She's due 4 days after me & I really feel she's drifted away from me and almost like she wants to be the only one that's pregnant? It hurts because I lost my first baby at nearly 11 weeks before we had a chance to tell anyone I was pregnant and was really looking forward to having a buddy this time.

I am experiencing a similar situation... I have a friend who is going through infertility and we talk on the phone all the time (we currently live in different states), and we never talk about my baby. It hurts.... I have been there through everything for her, and when she got pregnant, I was her biggest cheerleader- then she lost the baby (when I was still in the danger zone and terrified)...and we talked and researched everything- together.... But never one peep about how I'm doing or the baby... I'm now 25 weeks and she doesn't know the gender or anything.... I believe a friendship is equal.. No matter what you're going through, you are there for each other ...

I had a very good friend of mine announce her pregnancy, then about a month later I had a miscarriage (after several months of trying). It just killed me inside that we wouldn't be able to be pregnant together. Though I love her dearly and was so excited for her, I was just heartbroken hearing about her joys of pregnancy. After spending any time with her, I'd spend the car ride home sobbing. Perhaps your friend may be struggling with something and though she's happy for you and cares for you, hearing about it all may be tough.

My best friend doesn't hit me up anymore because she's so into going out all the time and drinking and having fun, she hasn't even asked me how I'm doing. She's broken our plans twice and hasn't bothered making new plans with me. And we have been best friends since 8th grade. It hurts, but I now know where we stand. My boyfriend has become my best friend throughout this whole journey.

I admit I was on the other side of the fence. There are three of us (best friends) and they both got pregnant right out of high school. I drifted away, but I didn't mean to hurt them. I had no babies and pregnancy was the last thing on my mind so I thought I was doing them a favor by stepping back. I figured they wanted to enjoy the pregnancy with their partner because that's what I thought I would want. I had no idea how to relate or what to do. Then one day my friend told me that she felt bad because I didn't invite her out anymore. That just because she was pregnant didn't mean she couldn't still have fun. I felt so bad. I had no idea. Maybe your friend feels the same and doesn't know that you want that attention?

Ten years later I'm pregnant with my first (they have two now) and they don't check in with me, but it doesn't hurt my feelings because I understand they each have two kids and a partner. Plus I don't like the attention so I prefer to stay out of the spot light. So if your friend does have babies, maybe she's just busy with that. You won't really know until you talk to her.

I've felt the same too! But to I point I understand, it was our thing to go out once a week drink, eat dinner have our little dates.. but where I'm pg now we don't. Hardly talk.. hardly do anything. I may pop over and wed play a round of cards.. but I miss us!! I know she's all happy about me being pregnant, but she's not showing it like I think she should be. Lol..alright maybe that's a little selfish of me to say! But I get your point and feel the same way! I just try not to take it to heart.. but I'll cry.. lol!!

Some friends feel they relate less to their pregnant friends. I'd also have friends visit who just never ask..  Try sharing something with her and hear how she responds. E.g your baby kicks etc. As for your pregnancy being high risk, I wish you all the bestm hope it goes well.
