Hyphenated names
Hi mommas! So I just want to see what y’all think about hyphenated names,
I’m due in 4 weeks time and me and my partner would like to name our daughter after my mum Ruby, we originally planned on naming her Mia Ruby as we really liked the name Mia but we feel it just doesn’t roll off the tongue as well, so we decided to go for Ruby Mae as we didn’t like the sound of Ruby Mia either. Thing is my sisters 8 year old daughter is also called Ruby 😩 hence why we thought maybe we should hyphenate my daughters name so there’s a slight difference (my sister doesn’t mind us naming our daughter after our mum aswel) so we’re thinking Ruby-Mae
I’m a bit worried about this causing all kinds of problems when she’s a bit older and has to fill out forms and sometimes if the - will be forgotten and cause issues for her etc, I just wanted to know if there’s any of you out there who have kids or you yourselves have hyphenated names and if you would recommend it or not.
