Help please! Our 13mo daughter has been hitting and it needs to stop. Our son didn’t do this, so I don’t know the most effective strategies. She understands what we say, but she only knows 1-2 words herself.

She seems to mostly hit me (naturally). I’ll be holding her and she’ll just hit my face. I firmly tell her “no hitting” and hold her arms down for a second then let go. If she does it again, I repeat “no hitting” and then set her down.

Today she walked over to her brother (he was watching tv) and just smacked him in the head for no reason. We firmly told her “no hitting” and moved her away.

I don’t know why she’s doing this but we need it to stop. Please share your strategies!
