I have disabilities, and my step son is autistic. But I don't consider him to have a disability, he's our little scientist lol

My oldest was born healthy but had an allergic reaction to medication at 2mos old that caused her to have a stroke and about a week later she started having seizures we took her off the seizure medication at 6mos old and she had 1 seizure a year around Christmas time (febrile seizures) just when she got sick until she was 4 then she outgrew them and when she was 5 she was diagnosed with adhd (linked to the type of seizures she had) and once she was able to focus on school we learned she had mild mental retardation that has now developed into moderate retardation with an IQ below 50... She's amazing and most people never know all the troubles she's had to go through and we are blessed by her more and more each day she'll be 15 in 3 weeks!

I was a caregiver for people with developmental disabilities for 2 years. I was a home manager. Most rewarding job ever.

Not me but my brother is mentally handicapped. And it's genetic so it's possible for me to have a child with disabilities.

I probably won't have kids, but I myself was born with a disability that affects my mobility, bowel and bladder control, and sexual function.

I have 2 children with two different chromosomal defects. To me they are perfect ❤ how many of you have or are trying to have children after having your differently abled child?
