what reparations should be made?

you can read the article down below, but what reparations do you think should be made to this family? the U.S. is considering paying the family, but they say it will be difficult since we’re no longer in afgahnistan. i’ve seen some people say that we should offer them citizenship in the US instead. what are your thoughts?

The USA has killed 47k+ Afghan civilians.

Are they going to act like these are the first civilians we have killed during this war over the past 20 years?  I can’t even imagine the amount of innocent lives that were lost during this whole mess.  Money will not replace these human lives.  I’m also not sure I’d want to become an American citizen after American citizens killed my entire family “by accident.”

I honestly have no idea what can or should be done in terms of reparations but I sure as fuck wouldn't want to live in a country that was responsible for killing my family.

God that’s sad. The U.S. has killed hundreds of civilians in drone strikes in the past 20 years, and I have no idea what is typically done. Nothing I suppose. 
I don’t know what the right answers are, but since we’ve identified surviving family members in this case, we should probably start by asking them what they want.

I'm not sure I see it as a lie or cover-up, but I definitely think it would have been swept under the rug if journalists hadn't investigated and published the information.

I'm glad to see the administration, specifically Austin, addressing it and at least *saying* people will be held accountable for this mistake.  We'll see - I'm not holding my breath. 
Sadly, had this been a conservative administration, all the investigative work by these two outlets would have been dismissed as being a pointless hit-job from liberal media. I hope people can see the value of real journalism.
