Breastfeeding- do I take bottles to hospital?

Hi everyone, First time mom to be here and I am hoping I will be able to breastfeed, but I am wondering what I need to bring to hospital if I’m planning on breastfeeding? My sister said I should bring formula in case it doesn’t work but other online things say do not do this? Do I bring bottles formula powder, ready made milk? Any idea?

The only things I brought to the hospital for breastfeeding were a boppy and a contact number for a lactation consultant. That’s all I needed and I successfully breastfed for a year

You need nothing. The baby will nurse & stimulate production.
I produced clear gel that slowly turned to milk in the first week. Before birth I thought my nipples had crusty skin but it turned out to be colostrum starting. Sorry TMI. 
My hospital also provided me with nipple shields but I didn't really need them other than sore nipples.
Just soak up everything the lactation consultant tells you. My consultant came everyday and sometimes twice to help me and the nurses did great too. My son had a hard time latching the first day. He was so tired but was a champ by the time I went home on the 3rd day.
Babies don't know what they are doing either so it can be challenging for both of you.

I was able to breastfeed, but they would have supplied formula (in fact- they sent me home with some anyway). I would take a breastfeeding pillow, nipple cream, and specifically ask to see a lactation specialist after baby is born. I hope your hospital has one on staff. Your milk probably won’t really come in until you’re home anyway, but you can get some good advice from the LC and baby can get colostrum.
