Should I go to this wedding?

I’ll be 38 weeks this Thursday and there is a wedding 3.5 hours away on Saturday that we’ve been invited to.  It’s my husbands best friends wedding… I have told him he should go and I will stay home, I have family who will be near if I happen to go into labor.  He doesn’t want to go because I can’t go.  Would it be risky for me to go as well? I have my c-section scheduled for the 1st of October, so I’m hoping baby will hold in till then.  What would you do?

I am 34 weeks and I’m not traveling any farther than an hour away from home just because you never know.

I don’t think it’s wise traveling over 40-60mins away from home at 38 weeks. I personally am 37 weeks this week and I am not attending any special events or parties that are longer than 1hour away. Baby could come at any moment and I’d like to be as prepared as possible. But at the end of the day it’s down to you. Goodluck

I would not go. Too risky IMO. With our 3rd baby, one my hubby’s best friends was getting married to one of my friends when I was going to be 38 weeks. The same BF was in our wedding as well. It was not in town so we jointly decided it was too risky to go, called them and told them (the BF was very understanding and said he knew we were close to our due date), and sent them a nice gift from their registry. 🤗

I went to a wedding about 5 hours away as my husband was best man and I really wanted to be there for it- I wouldn’t have gone otherwise. I was 37 weeks at the time and my midwife said it was fine as long as I took my notes, identified where the nearest hospitals were and during the car journey stopped to stretch my legs every hour. We packed the hospital bags and car seat too just in case. We had accommodation on the venue site, so each night I left early and went to bed to conserve my energy. Luckily we made it back home with no worries! 
We have another wedding this weekend and I’m now 38 weeks, we’ve already declined even though it’s a shorter distance away. I don’t want to take any more chances! It’s totally your choice though and depends how you’re feeling in yourself and if your health advisor is fine with you travelling. Wishing you all the best whatever decision you make!

I have a wedding 2 days before my induction date and I’m not going and it’s 20 minutes away. I’m not going though because it’s almost 300 people. But I think that it’s a little far to go just in case for you.

Nope lol. I travelled 3.5 hours at 34 weeks and two days after I got back, my waters prematurely broke and I went I to labor 2 days after that. I cannot even imagine the stress and cost of money if that had happened while I was on vacation. Never doing that again if I decide to have another baby
