“Mean” kids at school

My daughter is 4.5 years old and has started Pre-k. She has a few friends she likes it. Today she came home and told us that one of her friends that rides her bus was kicking her today because she wanted someone else to sit with her and not my daughter. I want to ask her teacher is their assigned seats or something because I don’t want my daughter sitting with her anymore if she’s kicking her. What can I say to her teacher really? So this won’t happen again. This is my first child and she’s so sweet (every kids has their bad times ofc). But I really want someone’s opinion on what should I do? I told my daughter well then don’t sit with her anymore then. Play with kids who are nice to you and you be nice too. TIA
