Favorite safest convertible car seat?

I can’t decide!! I’ve watched a ton of videos and still can’t decide. I like the Rava, but I’m confused on why we don’t use the car anchor for installation just the belt. safety is the most important part for me, no budget. What do you recommend?

Belt installation is safest if that’s what the manual recommends. Lower anchor connectors have weight limits too so you’ll eventually have to go the belt method no matter what car seat you choose. It might sound unsafe to your brain but it’s not I promise! All US car seats at least have to meet the same safety standards 😊 if you follow the manual and install correct, baby fits the weight requirements including the lowest weight at birth, and baby is positioned inside the seat correctly just go with your fav and one that’s in your budget!

Lower anchors are not safer than seatbelt. They were intended to be simpler to use but in many cases seatbelt is actually simpler. Whichever gets you a good install and is used correctly (lower anchors are subject to misuse a lot) is safest. The Rava is designed to be easily installed with seatbelt. You are allowed to use anchors if you prefer but it’s not any easier and don’t forget about the lower anchor limit.

For my son we had Nuna Pipa Rx, and at 11 months old switched him to Nuna Rava. We used belts to install it. It’s not less safe, it’s actually nuna’s preferred installation, and works pretty well. 
My son didn’t notice any difference switching to his new seat, and we love how comfy he is.

We have 4 Chicco convertible seats (2 kids and 2 vehicles). Our son turned we 3 in May and was rear facing until this week.

Get one that rear face as long as possible - and follow the instructions on both the seat and your car when installing it.

Here convertible seats are not adviced to use - but rather to use a plus tested rear facing seat as long as possible then to use a high back booster seat. So if you need European seats I'll make a list.

We will be using an infant specific one for our daughter, but then getting a 4 in 1 when she outgrows that. We learned our lesson with the first child of how much you can pay out for car seats as they grow 😂 Oh, and we’re using Graco for ours. Some of my co-workers use Britax and love that one as well
