Do I have to be cleared by dr before having sex ?

Okay so before you go off on me about waiting - lol just kidding but seriously I am 6 weeks pp. I started birth control at 4 weeks pp. I had no stitches or tears and a vaginal birth 
I called weeks ago to scedulw my 6 week appt and my ob said they were booked and will call me when they have an opening. I called a few days ago to check in and wonder how long it will be and they couldn’t tell me. They said they will try to call me this week for an appt but who knows. 
UPDATE - they just called and set me up for a video chat appt tomorrow since I haven’t had any complications.

i would definitely wait!! now if they’re not able to see you until you’re like 10 weeks pp i would go ahead and not wait, but if it’s like an extra week or two of waiting i would.

You do not have to wait. Hell I had sex with a couple stitches still in. You know if it’s hurting or not. Listen to that beautiful body.

I never even had a pp check after my second (I was on state insurance at the time and they cut me off before I could get booked in).  If you feel fine, aren’t having any discharge or bleeding, and are prepared with your birth control, I think it would probably be fine!

I’ve had 2 babies. There wasn’t a physical examination at either of my 6 week PP visits. My OB asked how I was feeling, if I was still experiencing any bleeding or unusual discharge, discussed my birth control plans, and that was that. If you’re feeling up for it, I think you’re fine to go ahead.
