Husband doesn’t want to be in the room during labour
So my husband doesn’t want to be in the room while I’m giving birth. I’m quite upset because I would expect him out of everyone else to be my support person in the hardest situation in my life. Thing is, he is not good with blood, vomit or anything that seems ‘disgusting’, he can’t really handle it. So far, during this pregnancy he has helped me so much and supported me, he gives me massages, washes my hair, gets me whatever food I’m craving, drives me everywhere etc. he is an amazing husband and really looks after me. Yesterday I told him that I expect him to support me during childbirth and he’s debate was that he HAS supported me through the whole pregnancy so far, he just doesn’t think he can handle being in the room. Half of me believes ‘just let him suck it up and be there’, while the other half doesn’t want to force him and if he’s going to run away while I’m pushing then what’s the point of having him. What’s your thoughts or experience?? It’s both our first so I really want to avoid a bad experience.
