Hubby going away at 36 weeks?

Question

My husband wants to go visit a friend for a night in 2 weeks. It's a 2.5 hour drive away. I'll be 36 weeks + 2 days at that time. It's making me a bit uncomfortable. He says if anything happened he could be home in 2.5 hours and it's unlikely anything would happy that quickly. Am I being paranoid??

Let him have one more putting before the baby! Just tell him to keep his phone charged and stay sober enough in case he needs to drive home

Yep, just relax. It's unlikely you'll go into labour that early. And if you do you'll probably not give birth in 2 and a half hours.

I say let him go. My brother, stayed 8 hours away in Tampa. He had to work that same day I had my daughter. He got off sometime that morning and I had her at 11:34am, let's just say some lights were ran and speeding was part of it. So 2.5 hours, just tell him becareful if something does happen.

I'd tell my husband no. That's a little close. But I'm also on baby three so things would happen quicker. Plus he'd never forgive himself if he missed the birth. Just not worth it. Why not have the friend come to him? Or something? Or maybe wait another month or so if you wouldn't mind him leaving for a day or so after baby is born?

To be honest, once you go into labor, you'll have plenty of time for him to get to you.... That being said, I went into labor at 37 weeks. I would have killed my hubby if he left me alone. I was sooooo uncomfortable and exhausted

Thanks for all the feedback- it's tough! I ended up telling him to go but keep his phone close and stay sober in case he needs to drive home...now he's rethinking it cause I don't think it will be the "boys night out" he planned, haha 😉

My husband has to take classes for his job when I'm 39 & 41 weeks. He'll be 350 miles away. I'm trying to keep my cool, but I know I'm going to probably be an anxious mess when the time actually comes. If it's just for visiting his friend (and the friend isn't like sick or in need or something), I would ask him not to go.
