It's not bad at all! It's awkward, the tools they use are chilly on your downstairs, and usually any type of "pain" you'll experience is a little pinch or a little pressure.

I mean, it's not great... But it's seriously not too bad. When you go, tell your doctor that it's the first time you're having this kind of exam and they'll probably walk you through every step.

Getting annuals is the best way to avoid larger problems later. It's great preventative care for cancer and can help you identify all sorts of problems before they become a really big problem. A little awkwardness once a year is completely worth taking the best care of yourself you can.

It's really not that bad. I've been to 3 different Obgyns and they're all different, but the one thing they have in common is they try to make sure you're totally comfortable and they're generally very discreet, in that they don't have you laying there in the stirrups for more than a minute or two. It will be awkward, but it won't be as bad as you're imagining, I'm sure.

It takes like a minute and is nothing more than a little pressure and coldness. I hate it more when the doc inserts her fingers and feels around. It's not fun just because it is so awkward, but it is quick and painless.

I did not have my first well women's exam until I was 25. Luckily I was healthy, but I wish my mom would have taken me and educated me as a teen so I wouldn't have built up such an irrational fear of going. It should be a mother's duty to make sure her daughter is equipped to deal with women's health issues.

I would suggest trying to get a woman doctor so your more comfortable. If it's a woman she knows what it is like to have one done, my last gyno is a woman and the best one I've seen so far.... But all in all its not bad at all, as all the other women mostly say it's the tools they use and have that make it uncomfortable, but the most you will feel is some pressure it doesn't hurt its just like you gotta pee pressure. Lol. If you can handle sex you can handle this like a pro!!! (: no doubt about it!!! Lol... Its a very quick procedure usually done in less than 3 minutes.

I don't like it, it's really an uncomfortable feeling and you can feel the tools in your stomach.. I kept asking over and over if the doctor was done. Never again
