Would it be rude to use the same name?

I have this friend who I met a year ago on Discord. We don't live in the same state but we're still friends who talk on Discord and Instagram. Her and I got pregnant at the same time, both with boys! She had a name picked out and the middle name she's using for her boy is the name that we wanted to use for our baby's first name. I know you'll think, it's just a middle name it's not a big deal BUT she's calling him by his middle name as a nickname, instead of using his first name. I know we don't live in the same state but we still talk to each other on social media and I think she'd be upset if i used the same name. Would it be rude to use the name?
