Should I leave or wait for him to say he loves me?

We’ve been dating 7 months. I told him about a week ago that I love him and he didn’t say it back. He said “I care for you a lot, but I don’t want to rush into things”. 
Now it’s been over a week and he hasn’t said it still and it feels like it’s getting weird. We talked about it today and he asked if I want someone “who will actually love me or someone who just tells me they love me to appease me”. I feel like that’s kind of awful and basically admitting he’s not in the same spot. I don’t want to be in a one sided relationship, but he keeps saying he’ll say it when he’s ready but doesn’t want me to leave. 
What do I do?

If he is being honest about where he is and he is openly telling you he just isn't ready to say it yet then you can't be upset some guys take more time to reach that level love isnt just some meaningless word alot of people try to save that word for when they actually mean it and feel it in their heart...so just let him go at his pace if you truly love him why would you want to walk away over him being honest and open about where he is emotionally

Well jeez it took you 7 months to say it. Why can't he take longer? Forget the actual words for a minute. Do you feel like he cares about you? Do you feel like this is a relationship he's invested in? If you don't get that feeling from him then you should move on.

You're wasting your time. He's wasting your time. You're almost at the eight month Mark. When you get to a point relationship that he still hasn't said he loved you you know it's time for you to exit out before you end up wasting 7 years of your life.

I would give it some more time.  7 months is not that long in the scheme of things.  It's ok you said it, but if you mean that give him more time.  Some people wait for those words.  Love is a big deal but when he says it you will know he means it.

I understand that you’re hurt because everyone wants those words reciprocated! But you’re not allowed to rush him on this. He’s being really open and honest with you. IN FACT, he’s shown a great deal of integrity and wisdom but telling you that it would be wrong for him to say the words for only YOU to feel good. Great love can take time. Look at his actions. He may absolutely love and adore you with his actions. It may be the words that are the hangup. It sounds like he wants to be absolutely sure before he says them. Those are REALLY powerful words. It sounds like you have someone really wonderful, so, don’t just throw that away because you were ready to say the words and he wasn’t. You don’t get to be entitled to rush him. It’s awesome you’re in that place, but love isn’t an exact science and not everyone is in the place you are the moment you’re in that place. It doesn’t make you incompatible. It makes you both uniquely yourselves. So my advice is to look at the way he treats you. The words mean nothing if those actions don’t back it up in the first place. Your worth being treated with love, not just being told.

You wait for him to be ready to say he loves you. I told my husband I loved him before he was ready to say it back and when he felt ready to say it I knew he meant it. We've been together for 5 years and have been married for 3 now and he shows me how much he loves me everyday. You can't rush someone's feelings.

Most people know and say it around the 3 month mark… sure you shouldn’t rush someone but you aren’t in the same place
