When should you take your lo to the eye doctor?

Given that they don’t have any obvious issues with their eyes. I have had horrible eye sight since elementary school so I’m wondering when would I be able to know that my lo got my eyesight?

They checked my daughter at her 1yr check up at the pediatrician

My big kids went when they started Kindergarten because they had no issues.  My son went for the first time at 8 months because he was having some issues

So at age four for my daughters appointment PRE-K required a form that the pedi will do a little eye exam.
