When to test

I had gotten off birth control in august and had a period early September. according to the app and clear blue advanced digital ovulation I had peak fertility 9/18 and we did the BD. However, I went to my ob/gyn for a different issue and she did a speculum exam last Tuesday and said looking at my CM I am probably ovulating at that time which is normal to ovulate late after stopping birth control. We did the BD the next day and my period is due in 2 days. I’m just wondering if it’s late, when would you test?
