Does coffee effect breastfed babies?

I cut out caffeine completely while I was pregnant and now I’m almost 6 months pp and breastfeeding. Would it effect my baby to start drinking it again? Tired mama over here 😂

So my husband was away in training when my daughter was a newborn... it was just me 100% all day and all night with the baby. You bet I drank a pot of coffee a day to survive 😂 She did great. No issues with sleep or anything! I also donated my breast milk and the mom who used it said there was no difference in her baby, either!

I had coffee or an energy drink occasionally when breastfeeding all three of my kids. It never seemed to have an effect on any of my kids. But my kids were never sensitive to anything I ate when breastfeeding such as dairy or spicy foods. You may want to be cautious or prepared if baby has had any sensitivities to something in your diet in the past.

Coffee never had an affect on my bf boys, but I do know a mom who swore coffee made her bf baby not sleep. From my understanding a very small amount will enter the breast milk.
